I try to post videos and blog posts here as often as possible, but sometimes I get distracted by just playing guitar and telling people about my new EP recording. Life is complicated...
I play a Gibson SG. I like it because it's easy to play, but more importantly it has a big (huge) sound.
You can actually make an SG sound almost like an acoustic guitar if you want, or you can flip the tone switch and just shred electric rock.
Interesting tidbit: Before I got the SG, I used to record with two different guitars. We would use a Fender Telecaster for tone, and then we'd layer in a different guitar (called a "Melody Maker") for grunge.
Thanks to the SG, I don't have to do that any more. I get my sound from one guitar - that's it.
